みどりの日 - Green Day

Today is Green Day which means the first of four bank holidays (well national holidays, the banks are always shut, so you reallly can't alluded to them being the cause of us getting time off!) over the coming week (Golden Week). Well for everyone in Japan except the fine staff, pupils and parents of Mino Junior High School, for today see's PTA day.

This entails me being in all morning doing not a lot (well I have to do a worksheet) then have a lesson in the afternoon while students parents stare at us (expect a high turnout for the foreigner cage at the zoo) then we have a meeting (which I'm going to argue I shouldn't have to go to as I normally have Friday afternoons off in lieu) and then relax.

Admittedly I do get monday off school so that way I get to enjoy the following 3 days national holiday:
May 3rd - Andy's Birthday Day (aka Constitution Day)
May 4th - National Holiday (they couldn't think of something to tack onto this)
May 5th - Children's Day (run free little one's and cast off those uniforms!)

I'll be taking a half day on Friday so that gives me a whole week off, sweet!

So the plans as discussed in a couple of previous posts will be spent on the beach. Tuseday is my birthday, which will involve drink, but more imortantly I need to figure out how to watch the second leg of the Champions League Semi-Final, beacuse for Liverpool to lose on my birthday would be bad form on their part!

The problem being is that I'll be in the city 60km away from the only house in Tokushima that has the Champions League channel (mine), this means avoiding the result and utilising Rory's YahooBB connection (as well as his pad) to get the game (I hope).

Waiting for the download of the match is gonna mean a late start to Wednesday and getting down south to Ikumi (I hope that mine and Robbie's pleas over the necessity of this action will be understood by all!) and we'll be down their till Saturday morning.

I'm hoping to take everyone to see Vortis Tokushima play Avispa Fukuoka on the Saturday afternoon and then probably have another night out in Tokushima.
