New Phone/1st Beach Party of the Year

The new Keitai....multilingual does not mean bilingual!

This weekend (still without a car grrr...) I went down to Komastushima for a Beach Party the weather was good (if a little cool in the evening) and it seems that Dubs "14 bottles of Turkey for my Birthday" had a great time.

I decided that after the previous nights fun, which almost resulted (well did for 5 minutes) me sleeping on a park bench that I would try and make better plans for bedding down for the night, this meant that as the embers of the campfire faded I got a lift back with Beej to his.

I also bought Stella for the day, which thankfully didn't result in me wanting to fight someone and the hangover yesterday was better than on Kirin or Asahi. It did cost 2.300yen for 8 bottles (about 11.50 of your English pounds) but then 8 cans of Ashai is 1,900 so its not that big a difference for a higher class of beverage.

I spent most of yesterday chilling watching DVD's and playing video games while Beej got shafted by a Sunday PTA day.

After Beej's working day was done we decided that we'd go out and upgrade our sad old Sony Ericsons that we'd had since coming out with a new phone.

Unfortunetly the one I got is not bilingual, its multilingual (which as I can figure out means I can use the roman alphabet to send text/mail messages) so I'm gonna be spending some time figuring out what kanji means what so I can get around the menu's.

Luckily all my data was sent from the last one so I can at the moment ring people, mail people and take pictures.

I do need to figure out how to get a better ringtone than the default ones.

The style of the phone is definitely a "you'd only get away with that in Japan" one, but hey it goes with my my Apple stuff so I'm very much styling in the staff room this morning.
