Drinking + Unplanned Sets = Bad
On Friday night I played a support set for a local band, now I only got asked to do this the previous Friday, but still, I don't think I could have done a worse job. Firstly getting pissed is never a good idea, combining that with using the devil may care attitude of "I'll play the first thing that comes into my head" which resulted in a drunked set of Oasis covers, which I think went as follows.
Do You Know What I Mean
Shakermaker
The Importance of Being Idle - quickly aborted during the intro as I realised I had no chance of remembering the words so I went into....
Sad Song - aborted during the chorus as I forgot the chords
Live Forever
Setting Son going into Tears by the Roses
Songbird - how can you forget the words to a two chord song, yep I was that pissed, stopped midway through again.
Bizzare Love Triangle - deviating form Oasis I went into the New Order classic and I think probably sang the same verse 3 times.
So I walked off and everyone said it was good (what a supportive bunch) but I was floundering. I've decided thats the last time I'm playing someone elses songs on stage, its my way or the highway from now on.
On Saturday I went down to Randy's in Kainan and a bunch of us chilled on the beach, a much more relaxing day than I thought it would be. Yesterday I drove home, went to a really cool restaurant (made of brick, thats a big deal in Japan!) then BJ came over last night and we had a nice Stake Cookout on my BBQ.
This morning I was going to avoid the results of the last day of the Premier League, but I peaked, can't belive West Brom managed to stay up and that my tips Norwich capitulated so badly against Fulham, but the biggest shock was that Liverpool managed to win a match.
This weekend, I have to decided between kickball up in Kaminaka or watching Tokushima play Holly Hock in J2 then go home and watch the FA Cup final..... choices, choices........
